Sports Courts Victoria Brings Shuffleboard to the 2025 MotoGP Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix – Phillip Island

At the heart of Phillip Island’s weekend of high-speed thrills, there will be a new kind of precision sport off track. Sports Courts Victoria is proud to partner with Blu Event Productions to bring shuffleboard into the MotoGP experience. Attendees will have the chance to step off the paddock and into the smooth lines of a custom-built shuffleboard court laid out right alongside the action.

Shuffleboard is Huge in the UK & USA and Is Now Hitting Australia

Shuffleboard is a precision game where players slide weighted discs down a court, aiming for marked scoring zones. It has long enjoyed popularity in the UK and the United States, and now it is gaining traction here in Australia. As a relatively new sport locally, it attracts players of all ages because it blends strategy, finesse and social fun.

At the MotoGP, the shuffleboard installation will offer fans a chance to play, watch, compete or just enjoy the spectacle in a new way. It’s a high-quality activation that combines sport, entertainment and audience engagement in one clever package.

Blu Event Productions had a vision. Sports Courts Victoria delivered the performance surface.

Blu Event Productions wanted to bring the classic game of shuffleboard to MotoGP attendees in a format that was both fun and highly polished. After their research, they reached out and quickly recognised Sports Courts Victoria as the industry leader for play surfaces. The brief was clear: build a shuffleboard surface that meets game standards, including custom line marking, durable playability and visual flair.

To deliver, we proposed using Slam Man™ Elite Performance modular tiles, known for their versatility and robust performance. Though shuffleboard is new to many Australian players, we studied the game and surface requirements to create a tailored solution. The court we delivered featured UV-stable tiles, a smooth slip-resistant finish and precise markings. The design choice was bold: a charcoal blue base for the playing surface, accents in blue and light blue sidelines, and crisp white glow-in-the-dark line marking to ensure visibility even in low light.

The final result is a dynamic, professional-level shuffleboard court that is ready for action. The custom layout, striking contrast and glow detail make it both playable and immersive for MotoGP fans.

At Sports Courts Victoria, we design courts to fit any size, shape or setting. This shuffleboard setup proves that even alongside grand prix racing, a custom court can add impact, fun and brand engagement.

With over 16 years specialising in sports court construction and more than 20 years in civil construction and surface technology, we back every job with deep technical know-how. We hold a 5-star Google Review record, and each court we build is designed to perform, meet & exceed expectations and impress audiences.

If you’d like to bring a unique, custom court to your next event or property — whether shuffleboard, multi-sport or bespoke design — we’d love to help.
