How to Build the Ultimate Sports Court

Planning, Preparation, Personalisation

Every great sports court starts with careful planning. Before the first concrete is poured, think about how you’ll use your court, what sports you’ll play and what size works best for your space. A well-planned court performs better, looks cleaner and lasts longer.

• Hire professional contractors! Working with experienced tradespeople ensures precision, safety and a flawless finish.
• Inground Ring System: If you’re including basketball, purchase your ring first. It includes an inground anchor kit that must be given to your concreter before base preparation begins.
• Concrete Base Preparation: The foundation of your court matters. Keep the concrete square using the 3-4-5 rule (your concreter will know this). Make sure it has a slight fall for drainage and a non-slip finish.
• Minimum Thickness: We recommend a 90mm reinforced slab for lasting strength and stability.
• Size: Plan your concrete slab to suit your chosen sports layout. Our courts are custom built to fit your space, and we can adjust all line marking to match. For a full regulation basketball key and 3-point line, you’ll need a 6.3m×9m slab.
